Yes that's right for the steps you describe. The only way around this is to load from MDM. That, in turn, seems to stop input 2 from working.
From your post above you say inputs 2 and 3 are for hihat. Am I right in thinking there is no internal difference for these 2 inputs and it is OK to connect normal piezos?

I will try to reproduce the problem following the same steps.

All inputs are equal so you can connect piezos to any any inputs, including 2 and 3.

Good to know I don't have to re wire again!
Just started up without pads connected and appear to have the same issue. Obviously I can't test but but the activity light comes on at 'positional In', The screen on the bottom layer display appears to be in Russian? When the display goes to to UV a number of channels seem to have activity and then die away.

I tried to re-produce the problem but failed. Seems like the steps are missing something. You are doing it with default settings?

Do it with default settings. If problem is gone post your settings with which you have the problem so that I could reproduce it.

I have reset MD and all seems well. The problem re starts when loading from MDM. I guess I should delete the mds file and start a new?

Post this mds file here and I will see what wrong might be with it. Meanwhile you can start a new.

I loaded your settings into MegaDrum and still cannot reproduce the problem. But along the way I noticed strange MDM behavior (a bug) when switching between inputs which may have caused your MDM to send invalid settings to your MegaDrum and subsequently cause your problem. I will look into this MDM bug asap.
