synthex megadrum kit triggering every trigger on its own

Postby rommm » Mon Sep 24, 2012 11:45 pm

In the last few days, the board has started to trigger on it's own without ANYTHING plugged into it. I unplugged the drum pads, even disconnected all ribbon cables but the board is still triggering very fast when I plug the usb in. The second HC4851 is getting really hot, I don't know if that has anything to do with it.
I thought maybe it got shorted somewhere somehow but I can't find anything obvious. None of the caps look blown.

Has this happened to anyone else? What should I do?

I have Synthex V3.2 56i.

Would be grateful for any advice.

It is not ok that the multiplexer becomes hot. I think it draws to much current (why ever) and the other components fail because of lack of current. Can you plug out the hot multiplexer? Then you can check whether the other channels work. If not, there is a more capital failure.
