Use MD with SaviHost + ADDICTIVE DRUM.

Postby silnangmarak » Sat Oct 20, 2012 3:28 pm

Hi!
I have finished building MD today. My computer detects the MD as Midi Device and there is activity in VU meter when I hit the pad and midi LED also glows with the VU meter but when I tried to use it Savihost with Addictive drums no sound is played! Anyone know what is the problem here? I have loaded the firmware without the bootloader using the ATMEGA usb programmer.

I think there is a problem with my MD. When I hit the pad there is activity in VU meter and led glows as well but in MIDI-OX input monitor nothing is displayed! I mean no Midi activity is registered in MIDI-OX. Any solution any1?

Coming back to your previous question. Megadrum, Addictive Drums and VSTHost works perfectly together.

If you run Megadrum Manager and look in the midi monitor...can you see anything here?

Bunch of possible reasons, some of them are:

1. Incorrect MIDI ports selected.
2. Incorrect Atmega crystal.
3. Bad soldering, shorts, broken tracks.

Well for no.1 Where do I have to select the MIDI port? VST host detects my MD but the problem is no sound is registered when i hit the pad.

No. My ATMEGA is written on as ATMEGA32A PU 1203

No. 3 I have tripple checked for all the solderings and shorts, I did not find any fault here..

If you open Megadrum Manager, options, select "megadrum" (or other name) in "midi in/out" properties and click ok Megadrum manager recognize the firmware version of your MD?

Do you use the MIDI port connector or the USB bus ?

If is the first check the 6n138 and see if is inserted correctly, if is usb check or try to riprogram the pic.

See the suggestons from Dmitri, check the traces/soldering of yor pcb, shortcuts and bad soldering.

For last try to post a good focus pictures of your bottom pcb :D

Good luck ;)
