If you sure, then load previous firmware from viewtopic.php?p=22584#p22584 and repeat the test with RdcLvl set to 3. The result should be the same as in viewtopic.php?p=22591#p22591

I'm certain nothing changed other than software changes you asked of me...

I just went back to the first 20121205.bin you sent me.

It is acting just as it was in viewtopic.php?p=22591#p22591.

Using 20121205 version 1...

1. Set LevelsAuto to No
2. Set LowLevel to 500
3. Set HiLevel to 630
4. Set CC RdcLvl to 3.
5. Set Pedal Curve to Linear.
6. Set Big VU Meter to Yes

I get the best response so far from all our testing...

I've been thinking about how the VH-12 works, and I wanted to share a portion of their manual...

Image

This says there are basically two zones, bow and edge. Although there is a third function which is the pressure after the pedal is closed. During all testing, when the pedal is pressed down all the way, I begin to put more pressure on the pedal, and this is where the VU meter shoots from 25% to zero... I feel this is where the 'pressure' part comes into play. I'm wondering where this signal comes from... and goes to...

The Roland VH-11 doesn't have this pressure feature...

I just wonder if this is part of the problem and just wanted to throw it out there.

Nicholas,

Can you please confirm that you are getting the same results I am getting? I'd like to make sure there is consistent results with different hardware...

ibanman555, before I come home tonight can I ask you to repeat this test - http://www.megadrum.info/forums/viewtop ... 584#p22584 - on the low impedance input (AltIn No) without a resistor? You did it on the high impedance input with and without a resistor but on the low impedance input you did it only with a resistor. I just need it to make a more complete picture.

This is with 20121205 version 1

*No resistor*
AltIn - No
CC RdcLvl - 0
LevelsAuto - No

LowLevel and HiLevel are at their absolute Low and Hi levels...
The "raw level" shows 192 in the fully open position. It is steady for a 5 seconds, then jumps to 203, and back again.

At 80% - 50% 167-169, jumping back and forth...

40% - 10% 159-163, jumping back and forth...

0% (fully closed) shows 159 in the fully closed position. It is steady for a 5 seconds, then jumps to 164, and back again.

Applying pressure (practically standing on the pedal) I can reach 156

* I just wanted to touch base again on the readings I get from the hats straight from the cable, without a resistor.

From 90% - 0% (open to closed) my multimeter gradually reads 19k - 13.2k between TIP and SLEEVE.

From 90% - 0% (open to closed) my multimeter reads above 2000k between TIP and RING until I apply further pressure to the pedal. Then I get 13k - 11k when I stand on it with all my weight.
