MIDI Stream from inputs 08-15

Postby istan » Mon Jan 07, 2013 7:22 pm

Hello,

if i powerup my megadrum, it beginns to send an Midi stream of NoteOn and NoteOff. First a NoteOff is sended, then a NoteOn of the ANote on the same input, by all inputs from 08-15, (If i change the Midichannel its sorted nearly by channel). Then its reversed and a NoteOff of the ANote is send , then a NoteOn of the Note. Sometimes the stream ends after a while. After restarting the changes i made are gone.

I didn't find any bad solderings. I tried it without the second 74HC4851N, but nothing changes. A year ago i updated the firmware. I wasn't able to test my megadrum until today and now i cannot update the firmware because of an unknown error (probably the stream). I have an ATMEGA644 with 20 MHz and a board by synthex.

How can i fix this Problem?

Thanks
Tobias

You have either bad soldering or incorrect resistor value on the ADC input of inputs 8-15.

Thank you.

The soldering of the resitor was bad.

But now the next problem appeared.
On the startscreen the top left was black.

I tried to update the firmware with MDM on OSX, but it failed. ('connection failed')Then i tried it on Windows XP. There was a connection to the Megadrum and i got the values for single inputs. But when trying get all, MDM hung up. Updating the firmware didnt worked. (nothing happend, alway 0%). I tried it with mdfwupdate. it loaded 4% and then CRC Error. And now i dont have any firmware. blank screen, when plugging in Megadrum.

Now i dont know what to do?

regards
Tobias

You have to load the firmware using mdfwupdate. If it fails at 4% or some other number above 0% then you have an intermittent problem on your board - bad soldering, incorrect resistors values, bad contacts.
