Could I have fried the atmega?

Goal for Synthex.. it seems to be the firmware as the 'Firmware Updater' message appears!
Now I'm preparing the firmware ... 2 questions:
- I bought a 20 mhz crystal, shall I use the 32_16_32 or 32_20_32 firmware (chip is Atmega32-16PU)
- In Midiox: Shall I set the output buffer SIZE or CONUT to 40000? (Also the maximum value in MidiOx's Low Level Output Buffers slideboxes seems to be 32767... this shows when hitting the plus button after entering 40000)

Use the 32_20_32 firmware for a 20 MHz crystal.
in MIDI-OX menu go Options->Configure Buffers and set Output, NOT Input, Buffers to 40000 (or 32767)

Okay, I managed to send a new firmware to my Megadrum. It's alive again. Thanks for the reanimation help! =)

But..: The midi led is now flashing all the time, even if I disconnect the input multicable. Input signals are not recognized.
Any ideas?

PS: I'm really speechless about the support I get here all the time. It's so fantastic how engaged you
(dmitri and synthex) are, helping us out all the time. I can only say that I'm looking forward to giving back
something to this community sooner or later when everything is set up at my unit and drumset....!

Is HiHat pedal connected? Is HiHat pedal AutoLevels set to Yes?

No, HiHat pedal is not connected, and changing HH-Autolevel flag doesn't alter anything.
But I get an amplitude now on the lcd vu meter when I hat a pad, unfortunately midi notes seem not to be sent (nothing shows up in midiox when I start 'Monitoring Midi Data'. The led is still glowing all the time.....

I tested it but the problem didn't solve.
Ch28 (Aux6H) seems to be active all the time: when I select another channel in the menu it will jump to this (Ch28) channel display again....

Check soldering / shortcut for this input ...

yeah autoloadconfig set to yes.
i will check soldering....but before the firmware issue everything worked fine. perhaps I initiated a domino effect

now it's working again. I think changing autoloadconfig was the right action here!

Thank you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (now I eventually have the newest firmware of all megadrum users )
Now I can go on with optimizing my cymbals and bug you with this issue in some days =)
