Note & AltNote ...

Postby drumdhiver » Tue Mar 12, 2013 9:32 pm

Hello,

I have a little problem : when I'm playing, I have an altnote send just after a note, It's sound like a "fla" (or "flee", I don't know if it's correct in english?)
while I'm just hit one time...

How to configure it?

Set AltNote equal to Note.

Hi Dimitri!

Thank for reply,

Yes, I try to set "altnote" as the same number as "note", moreover, I can tick "set link to note" : "fla" effect is always present.

I'd try to disable altnote only on my VSTi, and link pressrollnote to note; I changed for different Pressroll timeout values (it's the first time I used this function). I've no more "fla", but I don't have the same "response" like I got before, it seems to be poor of sensitivity.

Ha! I've another question ! I have 2 computers, I've megadrumManager on this two one. On one of them, I have new functions (I don't know what is it?!), under Minscan :
- Pos Level : Disabled (or I can choose 1,2 or 3)
- Pos Low : 5
- Pos High : 15

Is this parameters works with my ARM 32 ? (firmware V 20121216)

Do you send the settings to MegaDrum after you've changed them in MDM?

Yes, of course but it usable only if your MegaDrum has Positional sensing addon board built-in. I also advise you to upgrade your MegaDrum to the latest firmware version.

Hi Dimitri,

what is a "positional sensing board built-in"?

Could you send to me a screenshot or a conf of your personal MD ARM, just for see which values you set on your parameters?

could you explain how act the minscan parameter? I read it on your documentation, but i don't really understood

regards

About Positional sensing board read http://www.megadrum.info/forums/viewtop ... f=3&t=2052

I don't have any personal MD. I have a bunch of different boards with different MCUs. Sure I can show you a screenshot of some test config:

Because I don't know what you don't understand I can only repeat what I wrote in the documentation. The main purpose of MinScan is to make sure MegaDrum samples the whole first half-wave without sacrificing latency for different types of pads. Different pads produce different length of the first half-wave.

Hi, Dimitri,

Ok for Minscan and Positional sensing board :)

I will learn from your settings...

I've mesh & single piezo for snare toms and kick and I'm thinking about buying to you this card to add on my module (I check if i get it last 10 minutes)... Does it could solve my problems of "note&altnote"?

Positional sensing board has nothing to do with your Note/AltNote problem. I just tried sending settings to MegaDrum from MDM with various Note/AltNote/PressrollNote and MegaDrum gets those settings fine. Can you give me step-by-step instruction to reproduce your problem?

Dear Dimitri!

I realized that my four toms and kick get good response; my note/altnote "fla" 's problem were live on my snare. actually, It seems to came from two facts :

- the sensor position, too far from the mesh, it's a piezo with a mousse (or moss in english? i don't know), which one wasn't enough pressed relative to others

- the mesh skin wasn't strained enough (and no homogeneous tension)

;)

I hope I do not get you too disturb with my questions!

I will send photos/videos of my kit soon, I'm very satisfied and proud of it :D

I'm confused do you still have the problem or it's gone? If you still have the problem, what is this problem exactly?
