Millenium MPS400 & Megadrum, how to???

Postby drumdhiver » Thu Aug 01, 2013 5:15 pm

Hi all,

I bought 4 MPS400, and I've big problems to configure it in Megadrum : I can only set it like simple piezo, I don't succeed to make second zone work! I try to set Yamaha 2 or 3 way and roland cymbal setting, with piezo or switch for second zone, It doesn't work... (I try to invert connection on a stereo wire too)

Could you help me please?

Hi angr77,

Thank for reply, I will try it soon. Just a question, I have a 32 Input M. and I used a standard stereo jack and I don't understand why when I set Yam's or roland, I don't get two bar signals on megadrum's vu meter... I've only a sinals bar on the bottom line... (the top line correspond to the pieso)

??!

I have just connected the stereo input between the MD to the MPS. (you should set it to dual or 3 way Yamaha and switch for the edge) my settings reflect these config.

I would guess that the threshold for the switch is set too high...if the upper bar is showing zero when hitting the edge.

OK,

I'm using addictive drums

In any case, If I hit mps400 on the top or on the edge, if I grab it, I've only the signal of the piezo : W H Y ? ? ?

If I set Yamaha 2 or 3way (switch for rim/edge), I have green & grey bar on the log notes of megadrumMANAGER. iN ADDICTIVE DRUMS, it's recognize like a simultaneous hit&shoke. Variations of treshold don't change anything.

If I set roland (switch for rim/edge), I have only piezo signal...

Forget about the Roland selection.

You should use DUAL or 3 way Yamaha...(note: dual has nothing todo with 3 way Yamaha)

We are going for dual! and the rim/edge channel for switch.

use my settings...should work fine...using AD. works fine on my system.

be sure that you are really using a stereo tele cable...three zones on the connector...

Hi Angr77,
I try the wires gave in the mps,s box, or my own wires... connector stereo standart with ground, ring and tip. I don't know what is a stereo "tele" cable

Sorry, I meant a cable with tip, ring and ground. Sometimes when there are problems reported...the error has been a mono cable.

I still believe that my configuration in the syx file should work directly out of the box...so it sounds strange.

There is a parameter on MD that you could try... can't be done in MDM.

Set All EdgeSw>
< No >
Use this screen to automatically set Threshold on all inputs which are configured as 'Switch' type for all 2 and 3 zone pads/cymbals. Press UP/DOWN to change it to Yes, then press RIGHT and it will then show 'Working'. Now hit a few times edge zones of all piezo/switch and piezo/switch/switch pads/Cymbals.

Does it work better now?
