Two different notes in turns on hit

Postby bertbertbertbert » Thu Aug 15, 2013 11:07 pm

I'm building a mallet synth with the megadrum system. I'm new and searched the forum but could'nt find it.

Now all the connected piezos and pads make two different notes in turns. I don't think it's crosstalk because when touch the piezo gently it also happens. Any idea what else this could be?

Thanks alot!

Welcome. My guess is that 'a note' is set differently to 'note'
Looks like an interesting project.

koby drums - Triggera krigg/Bix - megadrum - Kontakt........... Samples from all and sundry.

Thanks, airflamesred. No, all the notes are equal to the alt notes and pressroll notes of the channels.

I now tried disableing all notes, alt notes and pressroll notes. So they are all set to 0 (disbld). I still get a 63 note from every pad in the midi log. Any idea what this could be? Thanks alot.

On the input, that the piezo is connected to, set all notes to 1. What notes do you get now? If they are not 1 then you are configuring the wrong input, not the one where the piezo is connected to.

Thanks. I get a 1 (green) and a 63 (yellow) afterwards.

Is it like:
a) double/false/cross triggering, i.e. you hit it once but get two or more Note On messages ?
or
b) notes alternation, i.e. you hit it first time and get note 1 and then you hit it second time and get note 63?

It's A. Next to that every other piezo i connect and set to note 2,3,4 gives the same note (1).

Set different notes to all inputs. By the unique note number you will figure out which input gives the crosstalk false triggering.
What input gives this false triggering?

I connected 8 pads and all the other channels, all unique notes (6-57). 5 pads (with the same ground connection 16) all give 49 and 63 (which is an unconnected number).

Of the other 3 pads (with the same ground connections 15) one gives note 48 and two give the same note 50.

Sorry, I read it several times and I just could not make myself to understand it. I suggest you to test one input at a time.
1. Configure all inputs with different notes.
2. Connect one pad to one input. Which input did you connect the pad to? What note did you set on this input? What notes do you get when you hit the pad? What inputs those notes belong to?
3. Connect second pad to another input. Which input did you connect the pad to? What note did you set on this input? What notes do you get when you hit the pad? What inputs those notes belong to?
...
and so on.
