Midi in and Out connectors view

Postby GvBDrums » Tue Aug 27, 2013 12:15 pm

dmitri,

is it possible to get the scematics of the ARM based Megadrum.

Are the scematics (in the Megadrum instruction manual) of the midi in/out din connectors drawing front or backside view?

In the manul paragraph 4.2 the photo of the din connector has a different kind of numbering than the drawing in the same paragraph.
I think the drawing is correct.

I have a midi problem
Midi out seems to be working ok, led is burning and signal is processed ok in Qbase.
Midi in , gives no led activity when an external midi signal is connected to it, is this by design?

Is there a way to check if midi (din connectots) is working ok in the Megadrum magnager
Is there a way to check if midi (usb) is working ok?
just want to check:)

Kind regards,
Gerard

I just checked the manual and pinout of the MIDI connector on the main board, the pinout of a MIDI DIN socket and the schematic for the MIDI In/Out connection are all correct.

Did you enable MIDI Thru in MegaDrum? Once enabled, the signal received on the MIDI In will be sent out via MIDI Out and USB and you can monitor MIDI received from MegaDrum in any MIDI capable application, including MDM.

Is Megadrum capable of handling the following senario?

I want to connect to cubase with adictive or ezdrummer on one PC with usb-midi or midi
The same time i want to connect and make the changes with the megadrum software on my laptop with midi or usb-mid?

With kind regards,

Yes, of course. When connected over USB, MegaDrum is seen as two MIDI In and two MIDI Out device. You can use one MIDI In/Out device pair for MIDI software like adictive or ezdrummer and use another MIDI In/Out device pair to configure MegaDrum with MDM.
