Yes, I too was wondering what the problem was. Does this mean there's a new firmware version out?

Hi *,

I have problems reading the HH-Pedal Settings, too.
These problems occured already in my initial fw back in 2012 and persist up to the latest one 130901. Reading the pedal changes nothing, not even Pot to FootContr. When reading all settings, everything except the pedal works. Have tried 3 different PCs so far. Sometimes MDM displays "SysEx Timeout".

MDM is up2date as well (130901).

Have tried a powered USB-Hub as mentioned in an older thread but no luck.

[MD with ATM644, 20Mhz, USB+Midi, Win7 32bit]

Any help appreciated!

Can you make a video of getting settings from MegaDrum to MDM? Please include in the video what MIDI ports are selected in Options and show the problem with the HiHat pedal settings.

Also, make sure that you have the latest firmware version in your PIC and if it is a self made MegaDrum, take pictures showing soldering quality of your main board.

Here we go....

I've put everything into my Dropbox:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/x4u37cv7tmzzdl9/S-LWJa4KOW

As you can see at the end of the video, as I kept on clicking on "GET", the MIDI-Led is flickering, but no data for MDM...

To be honest, I have no idea what fw-Version the PIC is. I've built my MD last October and took the files from the main page. As the current ones seem to be of 2011, I think it is the latest version ;-)

Hi. (This is not valid for the problems that cschlipp have seen on his ATMega based MegaDRUM)

I have now updated to the latest firmware on my ARM based MegaDRUM.

1. To able to read out the old hi-hat configuration from my MD (I am too lazy to write the config down): I took an old signed MegaDRUM Manager jar file - (Think it is coming from the MDM source code.) and got the complete config into a mdm file.
2. I was then able to execute the new MDM and do the firmware update. (There is always problems loading it to MD and you always get messages like "MegaDRUM not responding") but when attaching a external powered USB hub...and then using the manual process to force the update firmware on MD...it succeded after 15 attempts.
3. I could then send my configurations in the mdm file, created in step 1, down to my MegaDRUM.
4. Now there is no problem to either read or send data from MDM to MD.

Best Regards
