Dmitri, tell me please how to disable bell-chokes on roland 3way cymbal, or it is not implemented in this firmware?

1. Do you still get chokes when hitting bell?
2. Do you use bow/bell in the first jack and bow/edge in the next jack?

Dmitri, I have modified clutch of the ride cymbal so that the clutch creates some pressure on the bell, and when I hit the edge, the cymbal starts to swing and gets additional pressure on the bell, what sometimes leads to false bell-choke triggering. Now I'm using bow/bell in first jack and bow/edge in the second as it should be. I used to reverse them exactly for this reason. When reversed I easily can disable bell-chokes by setting "Single Piezo" on the second input, but sadly I can't get dampened notes in this setup.
So I'm using the cymbal in the standard way (bell-first) but having this false bell-chokes problem.

Hi. I have finally tested my CY-15R.

First with the previous firmware... and really I did not receive a bell trig after a choke.

Then I tried the new firmware and my CY-15R...and the ride got completely mad... but after some serious look on the midi log and using the cc triggering function to see which pad/cymbal which was triggering I found out that my BT-1 was sending a note 0 when hitting the ride (and fired a choke/damping note in AD)...(reason was that my BT-1 settings was completely wrong...i must have been drunk...)

After fixing the BT-1 my CY-15R became smooth and even triggered better on the bell than before. I am using the edge/bow on the second channel..which is only using the edge to trigger the shaft ride cymbal.

Bow/bell on the first channel. I forgot to test the choke on bell triggers... but pressing the choke all three ride notes are sent as aftertouch messages so I am guessing it is doing right.

Please try this firmware version:

megadrum_20140304.zip

Make sure that you use bow/bell in the first jack and bow/edge in the next jack.
Set MinScan on the bell input (rim/edge input of the bow/bell jack) to an even value to disable bell choking.

I Will try to verify it also. I did not receive any false Bell chokes yesterday...even if playing quite hard on the edge and combine it with some bell hits.

A friend of mine working in a music store showed a nice trick on the CY-15R MG and a TD-30....he could generade a choke with his drumstick ... Just do a edge hit and then continue to hold the stick with pressure on the cymbals edge....and it was choking.

I wonder how Roland do this...?

If I understand this right then it should work just the same with MegaDrum, does it not?
