I do not believe. When I put MEGADRUM on, the screen is normal and I get to read all the different configuration screens. I even adjusted the contrast to maximum after your comment. But the red LED does not flash and the screen is lit but empty when I start the upgrade process. Also I kept the loading process but no transfer has occurred between my pc and MEGADRUM.

LCD contrast in the bootloader mode is not adjustable and has no relation to the LCD contrast in the normal running mode.
Describe exactly what you do and what happens starting with the step 3.

Hello Dmitri. Attached is a photo of MEGADRUM at startup, where we can see the version number of the firmware.

Below the front of MEGADRUM, the red LED on steady, not flashing, the screen lit but without indications, when starting with the left button to update the firmware.

Finally, the command line with the failure of transfer.

waiting for your comments. Best regards. Patrick

1. Can you try it with another PC?
2. Can you try it with another USB cable?

Dmitri fantastic. Changing cable and PC, I was able to update the firmare, plus I did not choose the right version (I chose megadrum644_56_20140809.bin instead of megadrumSTM32b_56_20140809.bin). I have a problem with a USB port on my desktop PC. I installed from my laptop. Again thank you for the referral. Hope to read you. Patrick

The most possible reason is that you wired USB port incorrectly.

Then it is one of these:

1. Bad wire.
2. Bad wire soldering.
3. Bad USB socket.
4. Bad USB cable.
5. Bad USB port.
6. Broken or not complete authentic Windows installation with USB MIDI drivers missing.
7. Damaged USB on the main board due to initial USB wiring.

It supose to have some kind of driver, windows ask me for drivers for THIS device. I tried even with roland, yamahas drivers, simply windows need megadrum driver to work with. I never had problem with usb devices. I even reinstal all bus controler drivers and didnt hellp. Usb sockets on this pc are all right cose arduino, microDRUM an so on devices work perfect.. Simply dont know what to do next. Buttons dont react too, ill try on second PC and will see what tha hell happening here. After all am only drummer right :P
