It really is of no help to anyone, including yourself, to change any number of parameters and post, yet, another .mds file.

Once again you have changed nearly every setting.

Why has the high level changed?
Why have you ticked 'midi thru'?
Why have you ticked 'send triggeredin'?
Minscan increased to 100? Maybe this KD-9 is a jelly!

because everytime I turn it on it acts differently if like the fu(kn thing is possessed .. one minuet it works no problem I come home from work and every trigger is mistriggering and xtalking ... ill shut it off over night and in the morn it works good ... ill leave it on all day so nothing gets messed and its all screwed

I have my wife and son neither could care less about my drums so they aren't messing with it

I actually did not have them 3 checked but for some reason when it saved it saved it with them 3 checked. I swear its the craziest thing ,,, I know not to have them checked

I just want to reset the damn thing ... and no matter what I do it does not reset ... all this started to happen right after the last update could it be over heating or is my md bad or something

I power on md
I select load romkit/advanced select ... it says done
I select load rommap/advanced select ... it says done

select get all ...my setting are all the save (gain thresh, hilevel)

I shut the whole thing down and unplug the usb...I even shut down my pc

start it back up and fire up the md and the settings are the same (WHAT THE HELL!!)) why cant I reset this thing ?

Mr DDropski!

I think you need to find a baseline and also a process that works for you.

You need to go back to basic and find out how you can start from a empty MD...make some small changes..save it to the MD...disconnect it all...and when powering it up...you are damn sure that everything you entered is exactly where you left it...otherwise...

The baseline steps i always perform is the following:
1. Turn on the MD (Autoload=Yes or No determines if you boot it from a reset state or if booting from your last saved slot config.)
2. If it is a complete empty and new resetted MD the Autoload is set to NO. Change this always to Yes. Setting it to no...will result in a resetted MD when booting up.
3. Check that the rotary encoder is set to Yes.
4. Go to the save menu on your MD and save the settings to slot 1. wait for a "done"
5. Reboot your MD...and see if these settings still are present. (Autoload and Rotary Encoder)
6. Now - Connect your MD to MDM.
7. Start with pressing get all in MDM...to get all MD values. MDM will show that it is working with slot 1. (It will get all default values - crap)
8. load your best *.MDM file settings in MDM. I know you have one.
9. Perform a "save to slot 1" task in MDM. Now your settings are saved to MDM.
10. Close the Connection in MDM and then Switch off the MD...
11. Boot up the MD...connect MDM.
12 Start with pressing get all in MDM...to readback all your MD values. MDM will now show that it is working with slot 1.
13. Verify that you reqognize your best settings in MDM after you have been reading them back from MD.

If this process is working - you have a working stable process and a stable MD to start tweak from.
Continue to save to slot 1 when doing tweaks and updates. (Make occassionally a backup to a MDS file also...)

thanks guys ....

Dmitri I just noticed your last post sorry for the delay its been hectic here ( wife just got out of surgery)

1) I didn't know not to set 0 to other than main ... so to clarify I set 0 to note and it will cancel all the others .. ( I didn't quite understand what you were saying in that part) than what should I put for the alt note presroll note ( im assuming I shold just make them all the same that way if it mis triggers it will produce the proper note ?)

2) its hard to reproduce because it dosent do it all the time but I can tell you that then it happened on tom 5 then I selected Yamaha/dual 3rd zone it spit out a billion notes and even moving it to single piezo didn't stop ....but moving it to roland made it stop ... unless I moved it from roland

and if I didn't change it the whole mdm would loose connection ( probably from packet flooding..or overload) and even made the pc lock up ,,, I happened once before and then I loaded a different config file ( I have a few ) and then it was fine then it did it the other night .. now its fine again

sorry if im not much help in this situation ... perhaps it was from setting zero to other than main note or something ill see ... im sure it will get sorted out

thanks

I have done all those things accept save to slot ...I have just been starting it up and loading my Franken drums configuration in my hard drive which loads it into mdm then send to send it tp the md ..all which I think is essentially the same as you have described accept it is loading from a file instead of rom. .But would .I do have load configuration set to no first ..and encoders set to yes
So when in doubt reset everything and start over is what I was trying to do

I know this sounds crazy but for some reason all the pads seem twice as hot .. not sure why I have to have all the gains at 0 but before the update I had them at 4.or 5

. thank you sir I appreciate you taking the time to help me out (your awesome )

Hi again...

Accept...is that a misspelling of except? Without using the function save to slot...your config will not be saved to rom...only to ram...which will be gone next time you reboot the md.

Setting autoload to no and save and rebooting the md...is the same as resetting the md.

Which update did you do when the pads got too hot for the teacher...?

hi guys I spent a lot.of time trying to get a "Baseline Config" and I think I got it I have all drums and cymbals connected but im getting a lot of cross triggering and my hihat totally is messed up it is not triggering all the hits and my pedal is totally screwed... like some time I push it it down and its very slow to react and also there is no halfway to it its either closed when pressed or if I let up just a little its full open (no in between) ... ( I did do the hi/low setup on the pedal )

so im sending you guys this file hopefully you guys can proof read it if there are any things to fix the cross triggering most of my cymbals are cross triggering and tom 1 cross triggers with the cymbals ect,,, so basically almost every drum or cymbal is having some crosstalking going on (some worse than others ) and I cant get any rims to work with out cross triggering either
please look this over and see if there is anyway I can improve this ,,, I believe megadrum is the most awesome thing ever .. and you guys are the best..i honestly think that..

fd8 hihat pedal with a 1ok resister installed / cy12 h
also midi thru is supposed to be on I have another triggering pad (Simmons Sdmp1) unit connected to it (no crosstriggering at all with that)

after reading my post in retrospect I think its unfair to say everything is cross triggering and expect you to find out what I was talking about so ill give you an example

my hihat or pedal triggers when ever I hit tom 1 tom 2 and tom 3 ( I checked to see if it was a vibration issue my holding the hihat and disconnecting the pedal from the md (so no antenna) in my hand off the rack and hitting the tom1,2,3 and it still triggers) it if I turn the threshold up it stops crosstriggering but then only medium hits are detected (which sucks) I turned crosstalk superssion to full (7) on all 4 .. what causes crosstalk ? how do I fix it?

thanks for the help

Just one note...
Why is the hihat -edge threshold on 0. I am guessing it would trigger, even if your neighbour flushes the toilet. :-)

Also that you have the X-talk Group for the toms on different values between the head/rim...but I am guessing this was for test purposes. OR?
