Press roll note

Postby airflamesred » Wed Sep 17, 2014 6:01 pm

I understand the principles behind this but can't get p-note to trigger without a preceding note being triggered.

The midi log is showing note followed by p-note.

Is there any other settings I can change?

The ones of relevance, I guess are;
retrigger =8
latency =10
minscan = 14

edit
Is there a minimum number of strokes before activation?

For MegaDrum to determine that it should use a Pressroll Note there must be at least two triggering events.
The first triggering event will always produce a Main Note (or Alt Note) because there is no way for MegaDrum to know it is the first hit in the pressroll.
If the second and all subsequent triggering events happen within Note Off period from the previous hit then MegaDrum will produce a Pressroll Note.

Reviving this thread as I have had an idea.
This feature might be made more useful if it wasn't for the initial 'note' being sent. So, I have mine set at 80ms which works well with a flam. If you move retrigger to 81ms (I'm talking crash, china) then only a flam or roll (p note) would register.

So, the practical usage could turn the single zone crash into having choke.

Just a thought.

oh,and Happy Christmas to one and all.
