You can rig up a potentiometer to the pedal input to test whether that works. If so, the sensor is most probably dead.
If it ain't broken... fix it until it is.

Well, after re-firing up the MD again it seems to sort of work as in that the position varies once I move my magnet closer to the A1302.

I have set my MD to High Impedance, and Alt Input off..
Without doing anything, MD says that Open/close Level is "43".

It seems that my magnete is something special: using one side, the hihat level goes down, using the other side of the magnets the pedallevel goes up. Is that going to cause any trouble?

Now, how to proceed to get a better range?

I can't see any of your images.

Magnets have a north and south pole. I found that one side caused more changes (bigger range) than the other; check that just in case. Also, to properly set high and low levels, you're better off assembling the sensor and magnet in their permenent position and then calibrating the pedal by following the guide you linked to in your first post. The range (ie, the physical distance between open and closed of your pedal) will depend on your preference and the strength of the magnet. If you like your hi hats to have a big separation when open (eg. >2 cm) it'll take a strong magnet to cover that range.
If it ain't broken... fix it until it is.

If you're using High Impedance input then you have to set AltIn to Yes as advised in http://www.megadrum.info/content/hihat-pedal-settings

So did you connect it to High or Low impedance input? Did you set AltIn accordingly?
Did you measure voltage in Closed and Open positions? What is it?
What LowLevel and HighLevel did you come up with after http://www.megadrum.info/forums/viewtop ... f=3&t=2082 ?
What is the problem now?
