Still stuck and frustrated. Here are pics of the equipment and screenshots of the software. Redid all solder joints. I can't tell if my problem is hardware (e.g. bad solder), software install, or settings. Thanks for any help.
To get a quick start, I downloaded and loaded a Pack5_5.mds profile. I think it's by the Power Hell drummer, Zourman. He has shared things to help Megadrum folks.
According to photos, you didn't send settings from MDM to MegaDrum. Blue fonts mean MDM doesn't know what settings are in MegaDrum. Red fonts mean MDM knows these settings differ from MegaDrum. Black fonts mean MDM and MegaDrum settings match.
I redid the threshold and Gain settings and sent to MD and did get the machine-gunning. So that narrows it down to my wiring/1/4" cable/pad? I've tested both the 1/4" cable and pad on a TD-6 and they are fine. Is it possible I'm using the wrong kind of cable? I'm using an old cd-ROM cable. I tested the continuity on wire 37 (attached to kick) and it is showing resistance (although the reading is jumping around a bit between about .5 ohm and 6 ohm.
It is definitely a wiring problem. You you have to test continuity from the input wire on the pad's end to the input pin on the board and also from the ground wire on the pads' end to either of the two ground pins on the board. In both cases there must be close to 0 Ohm (if your meter is good). If it's not 0 Ohm then you must find where continuity breaks.
