I suppose it should be ok - the higher the thread count (I think those numbers are the number of threads per inch), the tighter the mesh and the stronger it will be. The only problem I can see is that it might be a bit noisier, but I don't really know. 43T is about as quiet as a Roland (quieter than the t-drums), and I don't think 54T would be much noisier.

I bought mine on ebay, cost about €7 for 127 x 100 cm including shipping.
If it ain't broken... fix it until it is.

This is my first post on the board, so I'm not sure if it is a good idea to resurrect an old thread...

I'm about to purchase my MD module and I plan to make some DIY cone triggers in the coming weeks. I decided to make the cones from yoga blocks.
But there is something I don't understand, related to what Privatex said in an earlier post:
privatex wrote:Sweet spot between this two material properties is best way to go.
There are some products that combine this materials like Pintech drum trigger foam cylinder.

I've read this Pintech page and I don't understand what is the fundamental difference between this Pintech foam versus a Roland-type cone. Pintech admits themselves that the outer soft foam takes no part in the triggering. They say it only "helps to keep the inner foam in place". So if you take the soft foam away, you are left with a thin upper foam and a thick bottom foam, which is very similar to a cone.
I'm asking because I don't know which cone/cylinder shall I imitate? Which will give me more realistic results?
