Megadrum Hardware Problem

Postby semihkavala » Tue Dec 01, 2015 3:43 pm

Hello Megadrumers
I have an interesting problem with 52 input hardware. I made an experimental 3 zone cymbal that converted from Acoustic cymbal yesterday with two piezo and two switch. Please see attached diagram for cabling. As I said that was experimental and didn't work. But when I plugged to this cymbal to input 32 and 34 megadrum was accidentally shuted down with windows unplug sound. I unplugged and plugged usb connection and module was start but I started to get continuous midi notes from 32,34,36,38 numbered inputs. I unplugged all connected cables except usb but triggering didn't stop. I moved the some pad configurations those located at the 32, and 34 numbered ports to 40 and 42 also I disabled problematic inputs from MDM finally I could use whole set after pad cabling. But this morning I restarted megadrum module and I couldn't get any midi note from whole set. I upgraded firmware to 20151120 from 20151104 but nothing changed. Also triggering problem is continue at 32,34,36 and 38 numbered inputs.

Did you face of this kind of problem and if you see, is there any method to solve. I'm sure there is no midi loop because I unplugged all connections except usb I tried one by one also I didn't use midiox and problem was still continuous even MDM was not running.

Thanks in advance

1. Start with the default config (button RIGHT pressed while powering up). Are there problems when using the default config? If yes, what are these problems?
2. If there is still a problem with the default config. Pull the config from MegaDrum to MDM, save it to a file and post it here. I will double check this is indeed the default config.

Hello dmitri
I added default configuration file also I added Drumset-2 file that I'm actually playing with this file and Problematic and other unused inputs are disabled at this configuration. You need to change extensions as txt or mds. Because mds and txt are impermissible extensions. I also added actual module photo. I unplugged all cable and continuous triggering seems at this photo. Working firmware is STM32d_56_20150411. I returned to this firmware a hour ago but nothing changed.

Hello airflamesred
Yes I plugged 2 inputs and module was shutted. I think problem was cabling related electricity problem. I forgot to mention from cymbal grounding. I used Acoustic cymbal and sleeve was cymbal surface for both input.

Hello again dmitri
At this time my main problem is I cannot use other inputs. I cannot see any midi activity on module (I checked via module, MDM and midiox). I may have given malfunction accidentally to the 32nd,34th,36th and 38th inputs but I have spare inputs and I moved configuration to these spares

Many Thanks again

BAseConfig seems to contain default settings. If it triggers with these settings and nothing connected to the module then I'm afraid you are the first who somehow managed to damage the module and it needs to be repaired. Please PM to continue.
