Sounds great, good work. How easy is it to retrofit on a 1u rack unit like mine?

Also looking forward to firmware update mentioned earlier.

I was hoping we could set hold time of the lcd to infinite. Currently if you leave knobs untouched for more than 5 secs or so it does a 5 sec freeze where all signal and operation is suspended during when it presumably saves to ram.

Ive found this annoying whilst tweaking.

Not easy. LCD window on the front panel is of a different size and a pin header for the color LCD on the main board in modules with a standard LCD is not soldered.

I already published it.

Looks like a feature request. Anyone else thinks it may be useful?

It doesn't freeze. Standard LCD by default shows VU-Meters. When you touch controls it enters Menu view. If you don't touch controls for more then 10s it exits Menu and shows VU-Meters again. If any global settings were changes, AutoloadConf/MaxInputs and etc, it saves it in EEPROM when exiting Menu.

I think it adds a nice touch of class, even though like most config is through MDM its still useful to see the VU meter.

Is it a case of soldering in a 5 pin header and adding a 200ohm resisitor.

The manual indicates a new bootloader on new boards at 10/11/15 are there any benefits to this that the older boards do not have.

STM32F205 boards with older bootloader will be blank during firmware upgrade. Otherwise they will work fine with the colour LCD.

I don't sell any components outside of kits/modules. You can use any ST7735 based LCD. Some of them have weak power filtering and may add noise so you may have to add ~2.2uF capacitor between GND and VCC on an LCD.

Only one order left with the colour LCD for the same price as with the Standard LCD.

I'm really sorry, I knew I had written a drunken reply in not the best of moods but I did not realize it was so rude and attacking until I saw it again now, it was not my intention to be an asshole like that. My apologies.

I completely agree, I've had the same thought since I first discovered MD. If MD had a cross-platform GUI that properly abstracted the underlying electrical/algorithm properties there would be no reason to buy any brand-modules if all you're doing is triggering things on a computer. Given a good repository of community-made presets for every kind of input that MD users have and it'd be *the* go-to device that everyone would be flocking to. I'm a geek that likes the intricate details of how things work but when I'm playing drums I want to focus on my playing.

This is indeed the case, and has been for a while.
If you know nothing about edrums and are looking to swap from acoustic there is very little on the internet that would give you an actual explanation on the elements you need and can use. Over at Vdrums they will recommend a Roland module.
So why are people not choosing MD?

koby drums - Triggera krigg/Bix - megadrum - Kontakt........... Samples from all and sundry.

-So why are people not choosing MD-

Thats a good question!
I'm read regulary the german E-Drum Forum and I select following common cons and rumours.

1. low dynamic compare with TD12 or higher;
(The analog signal is supposed to be better prepared, MD cuts the analog signal)

2. complicate to adjust, too many opportunities without noticeable result

3. No go for a "Plug&Player"

I cannot confirm this, but thats the image of MD.
For me its was the best choice!
