MD Menu: Jump to next pad

Postby halifax30 » Sat Dec 26, 2015 11:15 am

Sometimes I edit my pad settings directly on MD. To get to the pad's settings, I hold my up/down rotary control (which is a button, as well) until I get to the desired screen. But to get to, for example, Aux1 it takes a lot of time.
I don't have a working HH pedal, yet, so I cannot use the QuickAccess option.
Is there a button combination which works as a 'Jump to next/previous pad'. For example, I currently edit the Gain for input 4, but I want to go to Threshold of input 14, so I press this button combination 5 times to get to the 'Name' setting of input 14 and then navigate to Threshold with the left/right rotary control.
I checked the documentation, but I did not find such an option. If it is already there, could you tell me where? If there is no such option, it would be nice to have in the Firmware.

No. The only what to do it is with a Quick Access and a working HiHat pedal.

Huh, OK, so I didn't miss anything in the docs.
I'm not sure, if you take requests, but could you please implement such a button shortcut? :) I think, it would be useful even with a working hihat pedal.

To be honest, all button combinations are already used for some functionality so I don't see how to implement it without a HiHat pedal.

Today I tried to use QuickAccess with my pedal and it doesn't work. This is what I do:
1. Enter the QuickAccess menu and press and release the pedal quickly twice. The bar on my (color) MD LCD moves up and down.
2. I press and hold the pedal.
3. I hit a pad, for example Tom1.
4. I'm still in the QuickAccess menu.

I have a MD with color LCD, firmware is 20151207.
My pedal is a DIY hall sensor and so far it works correctly with AD2.
What am I doing wrong? Do you need more info?

Thanks, the firmware update did the trick. It works fine now.

Sorry, but Quick Access stopped working today. This time I'm on firmware 20160406. I do the same steps as in my post above but MD remains in the Quick Access menu and it doesn't jump to the settings of the pad which was hit. Is there some other setting which can break QuickAccess? For example, does it matter that Splash is disabled on my MD, because AD2 generates splashes based on CC4?
I tried pressing and releasing the pedal faster and slower but it did not make a difference.
I also read somewhere on the forum that on my color LCD the Quick Access menu should use colors to indicate whether it is activated. The word "Quick Access" is always written in yellow on my LCD, it never changes color.

I think you need to enable the splash by setting it to a note. I just set chick and splash to a note that is not assigned to anything in AD - note 1.
If it ain't broken... fix it until it is.

Thanks, ignotus. Unfortunately, setting splash (and chick) to a note did not make a difference.
