Okey i got it to work now but as a 3 zone with 2 stereo inputs and as a 2 zone. I was wrong to set up the choke by setting the rim function to "cutoff" an anote to the choke note. Instead of using DBnote for choke note. First initial test it seems to work as i should now.

Hi!

I just made an update to the MegaDrum Library. I had my workbench of gears up and running so I made a dual zone config for your CY-15R. (Using the Bow/Edge output only on CY-15R) Look in the end of the list.

This works with AD2 and the MegaDrum settings found in AD2.

Just for fun - I have also configured a third zone(Configured in MegaDRUM - not using two inputs)...which will hit if you choke and keep the choke and play on the bow or edge. (It will trigger the flexi 1 slot in AD2.

I would like to get your VH-13 settings in syx file format. both the Bow/edge sys + the pedal syx.

Best Regards

Thanks angr77!!

They worked really nice! I had to changed edge thresshold to 19 otherwise it choked the cymbal after hitting it.
I tried the same settings on the cy13r and it work great there to, i only need to adjust edge thresshold to 18 otherwise it sended aftertouch message randomly.
I also tried them on my Yamaha pcy155 3 zone only adjusted the mbnote.

i can't understand why nothing worked before.

I'll work on the vh13 settings, try to fine tune them a little more. I let AD2 do all the work with the controller. i dont let megadrum send different note for open or closed nor footsplashes/chicks.

By the way, it was your demos the made me pull the trigger on megadrum.

Nice!

Good to hear and also about the videos. I might have extremely low threshold settings in this config - but I was playing around with the settings because I was chasing after another cool function, which I saw somebody was doing on a TD-30 and CY-13/CY15...and that was to be able do a choke by just using your drumsticks only. And it works fine...

angr77, Low thresshold? i had to lower mine two steps from yours. Dmitri also said i have low thresshold. If i do the set "all edge switch" I get thresshold values around 6 with gain on 4.

Why do you have gain set on 0? I'm just curious, and trying to understand the module better.

With the vh13 i had to have gain on 6 for the edge switch. Otherwise I just got mbnotes or if it was dbnote.

The kit feels great now. I still have work to do with the snare and the kick. For the moment i only have a single ply mesh on the snare so it get some bad retriggering.

What is your kick like? You have a converted 20/22inch right?. How is the feel on it? For the moment mine is a Roland kd140 clone. But it's little bit to bouncy even with the head really loose.

Hi!

The threshold for the switches could be quite low. It is not too important. (Comments Dmitri?)

Hmm...zero on the the gain...it just strucked me..I tweaked against the wrong direction...sorry!

When tweaking.. I got a too low high level value when starting on gain 4. In general we are looking for a high level on about 900. So I should have raised the gain and redone the high level auto sequence. So probably we need to raise the gain. Let me redo the the calibration. I will post a new file.

Snare - I am using remo silent strokes on my snare which is a single ply...and it works great!

Post your settings and size of the snare on the forum and we will have a look. Do you have PS enabled?

Kick - I am using a 22" where the piezo sensor have been placed about 15 cm from the center. (Not in the center)

Okey angr77, high level around 900. I should check what i got on my pads/cymbals.

I just put together an old 13"snare build i had laying around. It had a homemade cone and a double ply drum-tec design head. It much less bouncy the the single ply 14" but much louder then it too. Both of the have flaws but i think it due to the mechanics and not just settings. These are just my first inital test pads. I started conversion about 3 years ago. But for some forgotten reason they ended up Collection dust in the celler. I started with megadrum about two years ago i think. I had problem with input jack, enclosure and my diy cymbals didnt really work so i ended up in the celler again. Then about a year ago i ordered some cymbals determent do make it work but again it ended up in the celler. But now I'm getting there thanks to all the help full people here.

I'm gonna look at the snare later on but main concern is still the kick. Do you have any Pictures of yours? What head and trigger do you have? How Close do you think it is to an acoustic kick?

Thanks for all the help/ Ulf

I am using a mesh head from drum-tec.de and the trigger is a Quartz Percussion on harness.

I made a small video yesterday when using my CY-15R with MD...

Threshold on the Switch input must be set just right, i.e.
Threshold level must be adjusted in such a way that when you press the switch you reliably get MIDI Aftertouch On messages and when you release the switch you reliably get MIDI Aftertouch Off messages.

For a dual zone piezo/switch cymbal the 3rd zone Note and Threshold must be set to 0.
