ATMega 644 Fried?

Hi,

I could use some help again.
I had my MD on a secure boot 644 working.
Suddenly it stopped and won't boot up again (the LCD lights up but stays blank).
I flashed an ATMega32 I had with the 2010 firmware and then the LCD shows the start-up screen etc.

Is there any way to check the ATMega644?
Any tips would be appreciated.
