MegaDrum screen and buttons

Postby Wapata » Sat Apr 09, 2016 8:21 am

Hey !
This may be a silly question but... What do the screen and buttons do that MegaDrumManager don't ?
I'm not able to find a manual explaining all the screen features but i've understood that we can use to set the triggers, and view them in bars (and we can also have this in MDM i think).

But. Is there a use AFTER we've made all the drums working good ? May be midi things ?

Thanks ! :D

Its just a matter of taste really. Some prefer the module others MDM.

Thats what you get with the worlds best trigger interface!

koby drums - Triggera krigg/Bix - megadrum - Kontakt........... Samples from all and sundry.

Thanks for the answers !
Let's pretend that i have two midi expanders, a old Yamaha (with maybe the very first Yamaha midi sound), a Yamaha rackable, and my computer with EZdrummer and addictive drum and hydrogen (well... if i have money, or it may be only hydrogen)

I play with my compter and EZdrummer. I take my drum out with my old Yamaha expander BUT forgot to take my computer. So no MDM.

I use four buttons but no screen (why ? Because it's science ! or because i broke it with a stick hit).

If I wan't to play drum, do i have to press 14 times the right button, and then up or down until i reach the drum map that match my expander ?

ps: even if i have the screen, why this particular menu (load drum map) is so far away from the start ? Don't all the features before this one will be used once for all and never again when we've successfully made a workable e-drum ? There is no shortcut ?

You will need to do it only once with AutoLoadConf set to Yes.

You're the first who thinks it is too far away. You can make a feature request and if it gets support from most others MegaDrum users - this order has been for years and I don't want to break "least astonishment rule" - I will move it forward.

I may make a feature request then. But only after using the product.
As I don't have the product in my hands, it may be not as usefull as i think.

With my Yamaha DTXpress, i have one big button "drum kit" and then the encoder. I think it's a easy acces.

I think a button to switch between configuration and drum kit can be cool (as all the other stuff in the picture above don't exist in MegaDrum).

Thanks !
