Hi guys!
It´s been quite the endeavour to build my kit, particularly in my case with zero knowledge in electronics, hardware and software.
For the hardware, I took the PVC path with stained wood finish (you can ask for instructions on anything!). The pads are shoe sole rubber on a wooden base, which feel great with good feedback. All measurements were fine tuned to ensure a proper ergonomic design.
For the software I used Drummic`a from Sennheiser and latency is super low. Barely noticeable. I had to upgrade to a core i7 laptop with 8Gb RAM though.
Challenges: Sensitivity is low. Hard hits are required to trigger the sounds. I think this is in part due to small piezos which generate less electricity? and also part not ideal mounting position under the pads.
Could not configure the Hi Hat pedal
I maxed out the response curve for all pads since sensitivity was so low... every hit produces max velocity sounds on Drummica.
Feel free to reach out! My actual kit is not studio-grade, but I am pretty satisfied with the results and I know it could reach studio-grade with some tweaking and larger piezos. Right now it is a super fun, durable and zero latency kit.
