Which board(s) for piezo sensors to USB

Postby kimouette » Fri Jun 27, 2008 7:27 am

Hi everyone,

I've posted questions on a lot of different forums and someone finally told me that building a megadrum board is probably the only (or the best) way to accomplish what I'm currently trying to do...

I'm already using Steim's Junxion software to convert USB to MIDI and it works fine!

Now I'm planning on building an 8 pad drum made of piezo elements, that will not require any drum module. It seems like some of the projects here are able to do that...

But I'm wondering, which board (or boardS) do I have to build in order to connect my 8 piezos to the USB plug on my computer??

Thanks for your time!

Hello Kim,

Yes, with this project, you can connect your piezos to the USB plug on your computer.
if you only need 8 inputs, you can build the Megadrum32 22 inputs.

I apologize for the super dumb question  .... but
do you mean that the only board I'll need to build is the

MegaDrum Atmega32 based Digital Board
So the one that requires these, and needs to be built this way ?
And that's it? Nothing else I'll need to know?

Cuz you mentionned Megadrum32 22 inputs
And I'm not sure what those "22 inputs" involve in terms of parts I'll have to buy and place on the board...

You need both Digital and Analogue Boards. For 22 inputs you will need this Analogue Board: http://www.megadrum.info/img/megadrumanalogue.png
For 32 inputs you will need two of this Analogue Boards: http://www.megadrum.info/img/megadrumanalogue2.png

Or you need only one board with my "All In One" PCB for 32 inputs.
