False triggering

Postby pglaudemans » Sat Apr 15, 2017 2:05 pm

Hi Dmitri,

Hope your ok. Due to circumstances I come to work with the module after a very busy year.

I read the manual but ran in serious problems. Connecting only a simple roland mesh pdx-100 of hi-hat vh-11 causes so much trouble, I’m starting to think my module has issues.

I have successfully loaded the latest firmware.

Scenario
Connecting only (no hitting) the pdx-100 with stereo cable to input 4:
When holding the module straight, the module is constantly triggered, you can check it in the midi log on the PC and the red light is flashing. Holding the module with the inputs to the ground, the triggering will stop at once, only hitting light.

What is going on? Getting a little desperate since I tried to change all settings, imported syx files for roland mesh heads and vh-11. The bad triggering is also occurring at the vh-11 in inputs 2 and 3
(yes – I know that input 1 is the first port on the upper left looking at the back of the module..

It seems there is some serious false triggering done by the module while nothing is hit.

With as much details I can only suspect you've not pushed the cables all the way into the jacks.

What is the threshold on that input?

Are you making a joke?

I'm a cable kind a guy - that's something that really succeeded ;-)

Any other guesses or what other info do you need else? See attached settings in other post.

I don't think guessing is the right way to address it.
1. Show the MIDI Log showing false triggering with the settings you showed.
2. Disconnect the pad at the pad's end of the cable and shorten both the tip and the ring to the sleeve. Does the triggering stop?

Ok - still need help here.

Tried to increase treshold - it will help only at value 80 ! (so soft notes are not triggered?)

Also tried the exact values as in this post - still false triggering!
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2477&hilit=pdx+100

Can't seem to view the midi log in mdm?? But here is the BF4 untouched midi log attached.

Yes, it stops when short circuiting as you asked. It starts to false trigger right after plugging in the cable only in the module (not even in instrument pad)

How can we determine if this module is defect?

Thanks for your help! Hpy easter

It is false triggering as a machine gun now :-(

It stops when shortcutting as you asked (and as I mentioned before).

Ah and when typing and played a bit with the module I figured it out:

It's the usb connector that is causing the trouble. When changing the position to a certain stand - the false triggering stops.

What can you tell me about this. What should i do. The usb plug isn't solid plugged when it's in! It has a lot of room for moving away..

here a midi log with problems
