Also did a cold start of MD, both in MD display as in MDMFX it shows 20170825...

I found our why update with MDMFX did not work. I got the message to select the file and click start (see above), that is what I did. From the message I concluded that updating through MDMFX did not require to put MD in update mode (left button power on). Tonight I got a different window (not ARM based?) stating I had to put MD manually in update mode, I did and the update worked. So for some reason previously I did not get the correct instruction window. Anyway, I upgraded to ver 20170829 succesfully and the slots were empty as usual.

Yesterday I had continued with some testing to find the cause of an inconsistent trigger issue with PDX8 snare pad (I will start a separate topic for that), and had connected the PDX8 to the D4 and the D4 sends channel 10 midi note 38 to the MD midi DIN in. Since this is basically the same midi merge test setup as with the keyboard, I started drumming with ver 20170829 and noticed just once in a while a dropped snare hit. I could only reproduce missed snare hits when the snare was hit with another trigger simultaneously. So below midi log is simply hitting HH and snare at the 'exact' same moment. I stopped hitting (maybe 2 more hits after) when I saw the D4 receiving a hit but no sound was played by EZD.

Let me know if I can do another test.

Do I understand it right that:
1. With 20170628 MegaDrum was missing a hit on its input if there was a MIDI message on MIDI In right before the hit?
2. With 20170829 the above doesn't happen?
2. With 20170829 MegaDrum misses a MIDI message on MIDI In if there was a hit on its own input at around the same time (as I can see from the MIDI Log)?
