Well, your thread is very erratic. If you are getting full velocity with only medium physical hits then your high level is too low. That Sir, is a hard and fast fact.

I don´t see no reason to letting this get personal...

If you would care to take a look at my settings before I ran trigger signals through my mixing desk you would see that I was running highlevels at 600, at 608 MD won´t send full velocity no more - so I think I´ll have to look somewhere else for a solution.

Can you clarify what this means please.
Can you also clarify as to which component this is references. Cymbal, snare and bass have all been mentioned.

I know what you're talking about. You set a high level with hard hits, and it turns out that medium-hard hits also trigger top velocities. You raise high level and it maxes out at say 120, but medium-hard hits also reach that velocity. I'm pretty confident a potentiometer or trimpot will solve that problem (it did for me). I use 10k trimpots. After installing it, recalibrate threshold and highlevel. I get best performance with about 4-5k but YMMV.
If it ain't broken... fix it until it is.

Thanks a lot ignotus!! It´s exactly what I´m talking about! As we speak, I´m working on the voltage dividers, bought some 20k multiturn trimpots - will see how it turns out!

Looks like that did the trick!!

Are any of you guys using the VH11 hihat?? And if, have you altered the input for the pedal like it seems a lot of people have done in here with a 10-15k resistor?

Hi

I´m experiencing that every time I enable the Rim/Edge zone on my crash cymbal MD starts sending some aftertouch, triggering the kick drum in Superior Drummer, and no matter what notes I set the crash cymbal channel to send to Superior, I keep getting a kick sound when catching/muting the cymbal??

Any suggestions?

You set Gain on the Edge, which is a switch type input, to 0. By lowering Gain on a switch type input you make On/Off range for the Threshold very narrow. On a switch type inputs it is better leave Gain at default 4 or set it even higher. Of course you will need to adjust Threshold after that.

Thanks for the suggestion. Tried running both gain at value 4 and 8, but I still get a kickdrum sound every time I catch/mute the cymbal. I´m using Yamahas pcy135, if it changes anything, and the other 2 works just fine with the settings I posted yesterday - both for mute and hitting the cymbals!

Very best regards from Reno
