I'd say no "fiddle" at all once you configured it to your liking.

And here is a couple of pictures of the whole drum set. It started as a Roland TD-6KX set, this included the rack, 10" snare and 3 8" toms, VH-11 Hi-Hat, CY-15 Ride and a CY-12 Crash. I have added one more CY-12 crash and one CY-14 crash and a 13" snare. As you can also see i have located the hi-hat a little above the snare and below the toms, this was possible using a Pearl RH-2000 Hi-Hat "stand". The pedals are Pearl Eliminator doubles. The sound card is a ESI DuaFire FireWire. I also have a M-Audio Audiophile 192 PCI card installed but i need to build a headphone amp before i can start to use that. The M-Audio card is much better that the ESI when we talk about latency and sound quality.

Whole set from a front view:

And the Megadrum + Soundcard:

Thanks, but of course, i still have lot to do.... ;)

1) easy way to make some good 2-3 zone cymbals... thinking of converting cheap (15 euros each) 8" and 12" splash to 2-3zone
2) better kick pedal (meaby using a tom)

About the cymbals, it seems you have plastic practice cymbals. I have the same cymbals. What I did was covering them with mousepad and stick the piezo underside. Why the hell are the piezos upside??

this was my first idea, I have placed a piezo under the cymbal and the second on top(upside bow or edge) but now I'm not too shure how to make a 2 zone with 2 independent piezo(that dont affect one to each other)

for the edge od bow was thinking of fitting with this order on the cymbal:
1) thick mousepad
2) piezo
3) alluminium (from can soda)
4) thin mousepad
