Btw, how do you know you have set the high level correctly?

I have fixed the problem with hihat pedal. I had to manually set a good value for highlevel and lowlevel, and then, select AutoLevel, and megadrums then sets correctly the optimal high and low value. So now pedal works (nearly) perfect (some issues with splash note: when I perform a splash, megadrum transmits both Pedal-Chick and Splash notes).

Now, the pads. With the VH-11 I have no problem. But with mesh head pads I have the multitriggering problem. It is not a matter of threshold. When I hit them really soft, they trigger only one hit. But when I do a strong hit, they trigger a lot of notes. It is like if the waveform produces (I built them with 2,8Khz piezos) a long tail so with strong hits megadrum receives a lot of raising waves higher than threshold. I don't want to change threshold because it is now perfect. It detects the softest note I need it ot detect. Maybe scan time or somthing like that?. Maybe the piezos have a very low frequency for how megadrum manages waveforms? Please help!! ;)

List all your settings for the pad.

On an acoustic HiHat how do you get a splash without a chick? I'm asking as an amature drummer.

I have all the default settings for the pads. I only have connected snare, hihat, kick, and hihat pedal.

On an acoustic hat, when you do a splash, you only hear that "splasssshhh" sound. You don't hear a "chick-splashss!" the chick is like if it were the "choked" version of the splash, so it is not very real to hear both sounds. At least, in common samplers each note represents different sounds. In roland modules there is only one note sent either you do a chick or a splash.

In the default settings of megadrum, does it have different notes for all the inputs? maybe a General Midi mapping? I thought I saw, while surfing the menu, same midi note for several inputs... maybe I was dreaming hehe

Don't be afraid to play with any settings, you can always revert to defaults.
The most important settings for optimising response/eliminating double triggering are:
Threshold
Retrigger
DynLevel (dynamic threshold level)
DynTime (dynamic threshold decay time)

Also, when describing a problem, please do it with more details, e.g. with this particular problem:
you didn't mention what settings you had for the pad
you didn't mention if you tried to adjust any settings
you didn't mention that you eliminated pad post vibration

I would like if you could post (not only for me but for all users) a recopilation of parameters and explanation of how they affect the triggering, specifying which quantity represents each value. For example: minscan I think it goes from 10 to 100 and it represents in fact 1 to 10 ms, i don't remember..) It would be better for all of we who know our custom made drums, know how they trigger well with other modules, and need to know how megadrum works in order to make intelligent tweaks in parameters and not random or nonsense tweaks.

I know that new features added are in recent threads explained, but now that megadrum has a lot of parameters to tweak is very difficult to search the forum to find explanations of all of them.

By the way, I have a doubt about the latency setting:
Changes in 20071218 version:
1. Added an option to change latency between 1 and 10ms in 1/10th of ms steps.
Is there any negative effect in setting latency to the lowest? If not, why anyone could want to set latency higher than minimum?

Thanks for everything you are doing ;)

PD: i will try to test the rest of my pads and not only my snare, to be more accurate on where the problem may be.

http://www.megadrum.info/faqs.php#Configuration?
True, it lags behind but I do update it whenever I have time to do that. Still it is a good place to understand the settings rather making "random or nonsense tweaks".

If the setting is missing from the configuration manual, the search function is still quite helpful. E.g. for DynLevel it produces 3 results with good explanation in the third link: search.php?keywords=dynlevel&terms=all&author=&sc=1&sf=all&sk=t&sd=d&sr=posts&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search

Good. I was thinking megadrum had a lot of parameters, but after doing some searchs I have found nearly all the info about the parameters. The only parameter I don't understand now is the "Latency"

Depending on the speed of MCU (between 12 and 24 MHz), how good is physical crosstalk isolation (MegaDrum still has to sample signals even if they're a result of crosstalk) and other variables, setting 'Latency' too low for a particular setup can have negative effect on MegaDrum response/precision. Trial and error is the way to go.
