Explain the Curves setting

Postby Mylo » Sun Aug 25, 2019 10:44 pm

I get what the manual says:

Hit level curve. Sets input signal strength to MIDI level adaptation function for the input. Can be set to Linear, Log1, Log2, Log3, Exp1, Exp2, S1, S2, Strong1, Strong2, Max.

But why do all these look the same in the curve graph? A straight diagonal line from bottom left to top right.

If, out of the box, I set my bass drum to Log1Custom2 is it even doing anything different than LinearCustom1?

I’m hoping to see what these curves actually look like from the “factory”.

I want to know if the curves are different out of the box when I first get my MegaDrum from dmitri.

That is, does the firmware have a default Log1 or Log2 stored away and if so what does it look like?

Thanks, I saw that thread earlier but don’t recall doing anything that would over write all the default curve settings so it didn’t feel like it applied to my situation. I’ll try this reset.
