Crossstick settings

Postby coenw » Tue Nov 01, 2022 10:39 am

Hi all,

No matter what I try, I can't get the crossstick function to work with my megadrum module. I read up on the forum and it's obviously supported, but I can't get it to work. Dimitri refers to a BNote setting that I just can't find in my Megadrum editor (V 20200410).
I'd be nice if someone could point me in the right direction.

Thanks,
Coen

It is Note/AltNote/Pressroll notes in the 3rd zone settings in MDMFX - they all should be set to a value for a crossstick sound. You will also need to fine tune MidPoint and MidPointWidth there.

Thanks for your reply, Dmitri. I only get a crossstick sound when midpoint and midpoint width are both 100% to the right. Then all rim sounds are crossstick soundsA notch to the left results in rim sounds. Any other parameters that can be tweaked to get a good result?

Very important for crossstick to work properly is that HighLevel on both head and rim inputs are set correctly, i.e. max velocity MIDI from each of these is reached only with hardest hits. Of course the hit on the head and rim must be simultaneous.
