Choke problem

Postby EricSinger » Tue Sep 02, 2008 11:07 am

I make a cymblal with one way and choke with a main piezo and switch. the piezo is connected to gnd and tip and the switch on gnd and ring. I don't use the edge sound but I haven't choke in BFD2. I would have choke in bow, it's possible?? How I do to have choke in bfd2?? thanks

Are you saying that
1) when you press the edge switch MegaDrum sends MIDI choke (aftertouch) data but BFD2 doesn't understand it?
or
2) when you press the edge switch MegaDrum doesn't send MIDI choke (aftertouch) data?

You can see it with a program called MIDI-OX

Hey dmitri, I have a question for you. When you hit the bow of the cymbal and then choke it, the aftertouch midi event is pointing at the bow midi note? If you hit the edge, then choke it, the aftertouch is different from the bow being choked?

How is built an aftertouch message?

It sends aftertouch for both bow and edge (bell, bow and edge when 3way used).

Thanks for reply. I must find out how Addictive drums makes the choke. It seems as if it is only possible as a midi note on. I think I will have to map with MIDIOX the aftertouch event with a new midi note on.

Addictive Drums does not support Aftertouch (or any other e-drum features for that matter). You have to map the choke to the specific MIDI NOTE in the AD keymap.
