I think ICs are linear from pin 1, and connectors are counted with even and odds as you mentioned earlier in this post.

Early you provided this image which is what I was basing my testing of PIN14. Is this image correct or not?

It is correct
Remember:

ICs = from pin 1 linear
connectors = even and odds
