If you get a full range from open to close, then there is no disadvantage. It's just there is no sharp boundary for the pedal impedance at which the standard MegaDrum input for the pedal still works fine and at which you have to use an Alternative pedal input for high impedance pedals.

I almost forgot this rather basic question!

For all the DIY PCB makers out there, what drill bit sizes do you need for this project? I've done some research and it seems that 0.8mm and 1mm are standard.

Also, where do you get your bits? I've found resharpened bits at http://drillcity.stores.yahoo.net/index.html and I would think that they ship to Canada.

0.8mm the holes for the components except 1mm the holes for the headers. At least that worked for me, I did everything with 0.8 and had to do again with 1mm those for the headers

Thought I would post here since this could apply to the beginner section.

As far as the jumper wires used on synthex 2.5 all in one or any pcb for that matter does it matter what they are made out of? I had an old laptop charger that I didn't use anymore that i cut up and gutted to the smallest wire (around 22 gauge). This has silver wire inside of it. Is this ok to use? I can provide pictures if necessary. Thanks everyone
