Newbie here sorry for the dumb question

Postby jeffbeckib » Tue Dec 30, 2008 4:43 am

I'm new to all this capacitor, resistor etc world. I went to Radio Hack with my list of components and have a few items that weren't exactly as the list stated, so I'm wondering if what I got is useless or will it work?
Ex.
List says 47uF 25v radial electrolytic or tantalum
What I purchased are 47 MFD electrolytic capacitors with a 35WVDC maximum

Another example is a 100uf capacitor (25v radial electrolytic or tantalum) what I purchased is 100uf 35WVDC maximum?

Are these ok to use?

All voltages above 16 volts work well.
35WVDC works well.

Lead space is important :

15pF (lead space 2.54mm)
22pF (lead space 2.54mm)
100nF (lead space 5.08mm)
220nF (lead space 5.08mm)
470nF (lead space 5.08mm)
47uF (16V mini, radial electrolytic or tantalum, lead space 2.54mm)
100uF (25V mini, radial electrolytic or tantalum, lead space 2.54mm or 5.08mm)
