What exact is compatible commercial wise to the Megadrum?

Postby daddy4life85 » Wed Jan 14, 2009 8:03 pm

I've been thinking and thinking and thinking on how I want to do my cymbals and hi-hat controller and then I stumbled on to a couple good deals. Are the Roland CY-8, CY-5 and HD-8 cymbals and hi-hat controller compatible with Megadrum? I think the CY-5 is just a dual zone and the CY-8 is a dual zone with choke. Is the FD-8 hi-hat controller crap? Thanks for your responses!

FD-8 must work ... but I've never tried it.

Yeah sorry I put H again....blah I have no idea why I do that :) Someone is selling the CY5 and FD-8 together but they won't ship for some reason? Anyways that's why I was asking. I'm kind of leaning towards just getting Roland cymbals. I think I remember reading that the 3 zone Roland cymbals are not compatible? Or are they now?

Yamaha 3 zones cymbals are fully compatible with a simple stereo input.

Roland 3 zones cymbals are compatible.
You can use BOW / EDGE or BOW / BELL with a simple stereo input.
But you must use 2 stereo inputs for use the 3 zones.
