not readable... flickers.
pin 1-3

You're not precise again:) 1-2 cannot be flickering otherwise the LCD wouldn't work at all. It is definitely 1-3.
Measure voltage on pin 3 of the LCD connector on the board. What is it? Is it also flickering?

sorry.. i mixed 2 & 3
(all those pins to be aware of..)

pin 1-2 reads 4.97

pin 1-3 reads anything from 1.80 to 3.10 and flickers between those numbers..

ok so far the flickering is gone..

how?
i do not know... it suddenly disappeared, but i can't get it back again by shaking the MD or pulling wires etc..

AND i updated firmware from my mac!

it's easy.
go here (for those searching):

(note: i don't use the "fancy" ;) Java developers-thing he does in the link, just normal version).

viewtopic.php?p=5132#p5132

basically download and install MMJ (i used v0_87 for future reference)
http://www.humatic.de/htools/mmj.htm

copy mmj "mmj.jar" and "libmmj.jnilib" to your java extension folder:
/Library/Java/Extensions

If you don't know why the flickering disappeared, there is a good chance it will re-appear again. Let's just hope it was due to a bad planets alignment which happens only once a century.

well i rebooted/reset the MD and re-installed the firmware - not sure why (AT ALL!) but after that it disappeared.

and all reading are fine to.

pin1-2 gives me 1.21 which is fine for me - i like it bright :)

i haven't tried EVERYthing on it yet - i've only tried hooking one piezo up to different inputs, and tested it - but yes. so far so good :)

it works here on my intel macbook.
the MD works in Toontrack Solo w/ Superior 2 and with BFD2.
and the MCT works as well doing firmware updates (NOTHING else is tested).

i simply through there was no need for connections 15-16...

and yes, i AM using the grey LCD connector with the RED stripe/wire on it
shown here to the left:
download/file.php?id=1029

But on the photo, the cable has 16 wires.
And your cable comes from the same roll.

well my cable only has 14 wires on it.

look here:

perhaps you should notice other people who got that wire as well.
