Tried both steps from above, no change. LED stays solid durring dump. The only thing I can do is boot holding left button to get into FW loader, and that's it. Holding right button has no change, I just get a pulsing backlight

Did you work from the schematics, erm - https://www.megadrum.info/~megadrum/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=456&start=50&sid=f480f7998850d1cc525ce61231a2370f

Is the pulsing happening as the firmware is being sent?

:ugeek: Do you touch it when as it pulses?!

I know my buttons are correct, the unit was working fine all day yesterday until I tried to update the firmware, but for some reason both down and right buttons will put the FW updater into ready mode. But let's not explore that problem on this thread, my problem has nothing to do with button configuration, so let's please stay with the subject matter. I just don't want to see this thread turn into a Button configuration topic.

No, doesn't pulse when it's in FW updater page, only if I restart without hitting the left button.
booting while holding any other buttons or combinations does nothing. Only if I hold the Left button do I get TEXT. In addition, up/down makes no change to contrast at this stage.

I didn't mean hold the right button :) I meant when you select the crystal type and then you are supposed to press down to start FW load mode where it says send sysex file. I had to press right.

As far as the schematic I built Synthex's kit. The buttons are setup right though so I'm not sure.

Wow, I've been blacklisted by Dmitri? That's a good sign.
OK, now I'm officially throwing this thing in the garbage, and calling it a day.
If this is how stable it's gonna be, then it's about as useless as a papercut!

Thanks to all for your help, but unfortunately I'm done with this for good. Gonna take a hammer to this Megacrap and get out all my frustration for having wasted so much time and money on it...

Dmitri, please delete my account, I want nothing more to do with You....... sorry, but you stink when it comes to customer service and technical support......

He's right you know.

Don't trash Synthex's build...
You are *NOT* a customer!
What did you think to Tal Wilkenfeld?
