Can I recycle my analogue board to use with the All in one?

Postby jeffbeckib » Sun Mar 15, 2009 4:17 pm

when I originally discovered Megadrum, I began etching my own pcb's, but later just purchased the all in one. Here's my question: Can I utilize this analogue board to act as an extension of my 40 pin connector for the pads? I'm thinking I can simply wire the 1/4 jacks to the individual 40 terminals, and then just connect a ribbon from the All in one to the Analogue board.

This is the board I'm talking about.

You can use 8 inputs (with Atmega32) or 24 inputs (with Atmega644) of your analog board with the EXT connector on the All In One board.

Atmega32 won't support more than 40 inputs due to RAM limitation.

I'm not trying to Add inputs to the 32, and my analogue board has nothing installed on it, I just figured I could use it as a physical extension.

my analogue board is just a bare pcb, nothing installed on it, so there shouldn't be any limitations correct? I just want to use the physical board as my input pcb. There's a place for the 40 pin connector, and there are 40 terminals to wire the jacks to. That's all I want to use the board for.

because it has a place for a 40 pin connector with traces to 40 terminals that I can wire the jacks to. Otherwise I have to etch a new pcb board for the inputs.

:| ... why not directly use the 40 pin cable ?

Or etch the dedicated Input PCB.

I plan on having the jacks mounted on an external rackmount panel, so the anologue board was gonna go into that, and then just run the ribbon from the all in one to the connector on the analogue board.
