I used OpenOffice Calc but I guess you can use Excel just as well.

Hi all,

New to the forum but I thought I'd try and contribute to the community by adding some mods for MCT to improve the appearance under OS X, and also to support these custom curves. Hopefully I can also help out to try and solve some of the issues with the Mac MIDI as well. Unfortunately I can't really test any of this until Synthex releases his new 3.1 board :-)

Revised main GUI:

Custom curves:

Obviously you can manipulate the curves by clicking on each of the points and dragging. Appreciate thoughts/comments.

Nice!

I was hoping to see the "graphical" curve editing be points that you can drag instead of just inputting numbers into text boxes and seeing the result.

I think this kind of contribution is what elrules was hoping for when he open sourced MCT, but I think he's also been working on this too so perhaps there is some overlap of effort going on.

You can do either :-)

Yep, I didn't make it clear that I was happy to see you can do both with your code!

After loading the latest firmware, i finally tried out the new custom curve setting.

It's a great idea and adds that extra touch of tweakability.

Dmitri, Can I make a suggestion?

In a new firmware could you load default settings for

Custom1 = Linear
Custom2 = Log1
Custom3 = Exp1
Custom4 = Strong1

It just gives you a starting point to tweak a curve type that's close to what you need without entering numbers from scratch

Of course you could still change them completely if you wish.

Makes sense. I'll do it in the next version.

I would vote for the possibility to assign a default curve to any custom curve (i.e. a direct copy). This is probably somewhat more difficult to implement, but I think it is certainly worth the effort.

Next version of MCT will allow you to do that. And I think it is pretty easy to do it with your PC. I will upload the new version soon.

All right, good to know :-) Thanks! I've been struggling with the dynamics of the snare drum e-pad for some time now (probably due to my lousy first attempt at converting a Remo practice pad) and I would greatly benefit from custom curve editing in a visual manner.
