Do the sysex messages still save ALL the parameters? When you do a write in slot 1, does it save both config and drummap?

This is not a reply to Dmitri, but more to others, who might ask for changing this: Please don't, because this is a really useful one. With this new architecture (that the Configs don't contain Note numbers any more) this makes it possible to change an entire setup (including Notes, Channels, Curves, Thresholds etc.) by sending out a single Program Change message. And this doesn't effect the ones who will want to switch between the new DrumMaps with Notes and Channels.

Thanks Dmitri, this was a clever compromise to make everyone happy. 8-)

el-dr, did you test it? If you did and it worked as as expected I'll post it as the latest version.

Dmitri, I am wondering if I done something wrong, my megadrum 32 with the last firmware version 20090624 I have 2 configs and 3 drum maps using atmega32 programmed my synthex with 32 inputs, you stated that I should get 7? I have all the correct firmware installed.

I mistyped. In 20090624 there were 2 configs and 3 dum maps.

I couldn't test it for all parameters on all inputs, but it seems to do what was promised: loading DrumMaps (internally or externally by Program Changes) recalls all the Channel, Note and Curve settings, leaving all other parameters intact and loading Configs recalls all settings, including Channels, Notes and Curves (that belong to the same DrumMap ID as the ID of the Config recalled).

Perfect!!! No-one will have any reason to complain from now, it depends on the user how he wants to handle his kits. In fact, this two layer object concept makes MD more flexible than any other system I've come across so far.

There's only one thing that would make things even cooler: to have enough memory to store at least 20 Configs (that's most likely enough to have one for each tune in a whole show), but this is nothing you can do anything about with the current hardware.

Thanks 8-) 8-) 8-)
